![]() ![]() ![]() My Favorite Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay Quotes Yes but not because it is kind of a political read but because of Randy Ribay’s writing and the message of this novel. It’s an excellent book but not the kind I would read again. It’s like listening to your close friend talk and you realized you’ve been listening for hours now. I brought it everywhere with me for days but when I finally opened and read it, I couldn’t stop. How many days it took me to finish this book? This fiction book may be a little political so I highly suggest reading this with an open mind so you can truly appreciate the beauty of this novel. With the title alone I had no idea what this book was about. The novel revolves around Jay’s stay in the Philippines and the things he discovers about Jun and his other relatives. So Jay flies to the Philippines to know more about Jun and his death. All he knows that Jun’s death is related to President Duterte’s war on drugs. This National Book Award Finalist is about Filipino teenager Jun… but is also about his Filipino American teenager cousin Jay who wants to find out what really caused the death of Jun. Now I’m done reading it and here’s my review □ That’s what happened to me with Randy Ribay’s Patron Saints of Nothing! Not that I thought it wasn’t a good book but somehow I kept doing something and when I wasn’t busy, I was too exhausted.įinally, just this week, I had a moment to read it… And I couldn’t let go of it! Have you ever brought a book with you everywhere you went and you haven’t read it or even opened it? ![]()
